China, one of the best names in the world’s market continued its harsh lockdowns and massive testing. It seems that the country will not compromise on its “Zero Covid” policy against Covid-19 at any cost.
On the other side, the countries are hesitating for hard lockdown implementation. They believe that it will affect their economic condition greatly. Due to this reason, the CDC’s latest guidance of quarantine reduced the time of isolation also.
However, the government of China is not going to give it’s nation any relaxation, and continuously they are implementing hard restrictions. No doubt, from the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, they strictly lockdown their major cities.
A current surge of Omicron variant is targeting China also. The Xi’an city located in the northwestern side of China reported 1,117 new infections from 9th December till yesterday 29th December.
In order to control this wave of Omicron variant, China announced the lockdown for the city of 13 million people on 22nd December. All businesses, schools, and marketplaces are closed till further notice, the New York Times.

In addition to this, China appointed above 160,000 workers at their daily Covid-19 testing centers. On the other hand, the government ordered other workers to spray the disinfectant in various cities for deep cleaning of the atmosphere.
China has the lowest number of Omicron cases. But still, they are not allowing the situation to become worse. Moreover, Xi’an is the second biggest city facing a complete lockdown after the Wuhan city of China.
As per the Live Covid-19 data, the count of new cases in Xi’an city is not much, but China is taking care seriously. The New York reported 40,000 newly infected cases on Wednesday and not going towards strict lockdown. But, China is not agreed to live with viruses and try to eliminate them. That’s why it is not going to lose its control.
Furthermore, people are suffering and facing trouble because of this harsh lockdown in Xi’an city. On social media, the hashtag of “Shopping Grocery is hard in Xi’an” has 300 million views. In any situation, China is not going to give any relaxation. No doubt, the Chinese government is doing all this just to save their people from this deadly virus of Covid-19.
